The CES show must go on, just smaller and shorter

The recent wave of the Omicron variant has caused ripples in the plans of CES 2022, which opens tomorrow in person at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The annual technology extravaganza – which was completely virtual last year – returns in person from Jan. 5-7, 2022. The event is closing a day earlier than originally planned, due to COVID-19 concerns. Attendees can still attend virtually; digital registration will grant access to more than 40 live-streamed conference sessions, keynotes, select Media Days press conferences, and the ability to engage with exhibitors at CES. Additional registration information is here.

The show’s organizer, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), announced more than 2,200 exhibitors have confirmed to exhibit in-person at CES 2022, including 143 additional firms that signed up in the past few weeks.

Gary Shapiro, president, CTA

“As the world’s most influential technology event, CES is steadfast in its pledge to be the gathering place to showcase products and discuss ideas that will ultimately make our lives better,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “We are shortening the show to three days and have put in place comprehensive health measures for the safety of all attendees and participants.”

Show organizers have also released updated health protocols and show entry processes.
